Video “Laying of Stolpersteine in Dresden 2014”

On 11 September 2014, the artist Gunter Demnig from Cologne laid 28 new Stolpersteine on 11 locations in Dresden. Therefore, now 139 stones commemorate victims of the national socialist terror regime here. This video give some impressions of the day and the memorial ceremony the evening before.

This video was made in October, 2014, by young people in the scope of a video project. It was a cooperation of Stolpersteine für Dresden e.V., Politischer Jugendring e.V., Putjatinhaus und riesa efau in Dresden. The video is about the fate of Arthur Chitz, who was musical director at the State Theatre in Dresden in the 1920ies and 30ies, was deported by the Nazis and died in the Riga Ghetto in 1944. The video is in German with English subtitles
